1381541 Magnetic transfer apparatus FLEETWOOD SYSTEMS Inc 29 Feb 1972 [1 March 1971] 9346/72 Heading B8A Magnetizable articles, e.g. tins, are received on a first endless belt 12 and transferred to a second endless belt 14 which lies beneath and transversely to the first belt, by magnetic means beneath the conveying reach of the second belt and extending in the direction of movement of this conveying reach. The tins 16 slide from the first belt on to the second belt at the area of overlap. The magnetic means is shown in Fig. 5. Ceramic, magnetic elements 54 form two stacks in non-magnetic housing 55 and rest on magnetic back plate 56. A central, non-magnetic spacer 58 separates the stacks, and one of a pair of elongate pole plates 62 and 64 is mounted on each stack. A similar magnetic arrangement of ceramic magnetic elements and pole plates, are producing a weaker flux, may be provided on the first belt and downstream of the transferring means on the second belt. The flux of the magnetic means downstream of the transferring means gradually decreases in the direction of movement of the conveying reach of the second belt. |
