PURPOSE:To eliminate the loss of information in an intermediate process, and obtain an excellent halftone dot photograph even when a solid-state image pickup element having a small number of picture elements is used for an electronic still camera by making the picture element arrangement of solid-state image pickup elements of the electronic still camera correspond to the halftone dot arrangement of a finally printed halftone dot photograph. CONSTITUTION:A video signal obtained by the operation of the solid-state image pickup element of the electronic still camera 1 is recorded in a digital memory 2. This stored photodetection picture element data on every screen are sent electrically and digitally and inputted through a computer interface 7 to a computer 8 for video processing which performs screen processing, etc., after being received by a receiver 6. The photodetection image of the image pickup element 1 is so arranged that the spatial arrangement of halftone dot data is similar to the arrangement of halftone dots of the dot screen obtained by the signal processing computer 8. This computer 8 thins out the input photodetection element data for reduction or interpolates the data for enlargement. The computer 8 performs trimming and halftone correction and generate black-and-white binary dot picture element data from the finally obtained dot data. |
