<p>PURPOSE:To improve the ratio of a target signal and a clutter signal and measure an elevation by deriving the ratio of target signals received with two beams. CONSTITUTION:Polarizing couplers 4a and 4b separate receive waves of beams I and II of two antennas which are close and directed at different elevations and generate two independent 45 deg. polarized wave beams into waves having planes of polarization parallel and perpendicular to the original plane of polarization. A receiver amplifiers logarithmically and detect two parallel and orthogonal components of the branching filters 4a and 4b. Subtracters 12a and 12b calculates the difference between the parallel component outputs and orthogonal component outputs of the receiver. Then, integrators 13a and 13b integrate the output of the subtracters 12a and 12b to improve the ratio of the target signal and clutter signal, and a signal processor 14 calculates the target elevation on the basis of the ratio of the output signals of the integrators 13a and 13b.</p> |
