PURPOSE:To reduce the material cost and reliably seal the refrigerant in a cylinder by forming a piston ring with synthetic resin and providing a lug extending inward in the radial direction on the inner periphery. CONSTITUTION:In a piston ring 1 used for a reciprocating compressor, the piston ring 1 is formed with synthetic resin such as fluororesin, and a lug 7 extending inward in the radial direction is provided on the inner periphery. This lug 7 is formed, for example, by protruding the lower end of the inner periphery of the piston ring 1. By inserting a piston 2 coupled with this piston ring 1 inside a cylinder 4, the inner periphery of the cylinder 4 is pressed by the outer periphery of the piston ring 1. Thereby, the outer periphery of the piston ring 1 and the inner periphery of the cylinder 4 are closely sealed, and the complete seal effect of the refrigerant in the cylinder 4 can be obtained. |
