PURPOSE:To eliminate bubbles so as to perform complete fusion in making a plate group by applying ultrasonic vibration to a strap formation mold at the same time when a molten lead alloy is poured into the concave area of said formation mold after plate lugs are inserted into the concave area. CONSTITUTION:When forming a plate group 7 by connecting the lugs 2 of positive plates 1 by means of a strap 6, ultrasonic vibration is applied from an ultrasonic wave generator 8 to a strap formation mold 3 at the same time when a molten lead alloy 5 is poured into the concave area 4 of the formation mold 3 after the lugs 2 are inserted in the concave area 4. By the means mentioned above, it is possible to prevent any contamination of the fusional section by bubbles by eliminating the bubbles of the molten lead alloy 5 and by inhibiting formation of bubbles between the lugs 2 and the molten lead alloy 5, thereby achieving a state of complete fusion. As a result, it is possible to prevent any separation and deformation of the lugs 2 which might be cuased by vibration or shock during manufacturing as well as any fusing and the like of the lugs 2 during large current discharge. |
