PURPOSE:To prevent a supplementary developer from lumping by mixing previouly the supplementary developer with a developer separated from a developing sleeve. CONSTITUTION:A developer layer remaining the developing sleeve after passing through a development area is separated from the developing sleeve 2 with a separation blade 7, and the supplementary developer is supplied from a supplementary hopper 8. Then, the developer falls on a guide member 10 and is mixed with a rotary mixing roller 11, and the developer then falls in a developer banking part 4 and is stirred and mixed with the developer in the part 4 by a stirring rotating body 5. The guide member 10 is pressed against the mixing roller 11 by its own elasticity or a spring, so the developer is crushed lightly when passing by the mixing roller 11 to crush the lumped developer and mix the supplementary developer effectively. |
