PURPOSE:To stably feed a sheet by always applying to a separating roller braking torque which is larger than friction torque by friction between sheets and smaller than friction torque by friction among the separating roller, the sheet and a sheet feed roller. CONSTITUTION:A sheet feed roller 3 is a driving roller adapted to feed out stacked sheets from the upper surface while rotating. A separating roller 7 is brought into contact with the sheet feed roller 3 in such a manner as to be driven, and a braking member 10 is adapted to always apply to the roller 7 braking torque which is larger than friction torque by friction between the sheets and smaller than friction torque by friction among the roller 7, the sheet and the roller 3. Thus, as the roller 7 is not driven, the structure of the device can be simplified, and multifeed of sheets can be prevented effectively. Furthermore, slippage among the roller 3, the sheet and the roller 7 is not generated, which can prevent generation of noise, improve the durability of the device, prevent generation of paper dust and ensure feeding of the roller 3. |
