Insulation for the winding slots of electric motor stators. The insulation is sufficiently robust to retain its integrity during the coil winding operation and provides support and protection for the lead in wires of the winding. The end faces have special insulation sheets cut-out to accommodate the rotor. Cut-out sections in the surface mate with the stator slots. The edges of the cut-away sections, the cut-out extending into the rotor opening (13), are folded back into the winding slots (14). The fold back length is usually half that of the slot length with two such extended end pieces forming complete slot insulation. Tapered tubes (15) extend away from the stator faces to provide terminal lead protection.
|
