In a frame for a vehicle body, in particular for road or rail vehicles for passenger or goods transport, profile rods (2) or the like are connected to one another via protruding or countersunk corner connecting pieces (3). The profile rods have longitudinal grooves (8) with undercuts which are provided on both sides of their cross-section and into which a clamping piece (12) is inserted. This clamping piece (12) is provided with a toothing (18) with which it comes to rest when securing the corner connecting piece (3) of the groove (8).
