PURPOSE:To provide a composition for oral cavity application, having mitigated irritation to the oral mucosa, improved bitter taste, disagreeable aftertaste, astringency and unpleasant feeling to the palate, and excellent feeling in application, by adding a collagen to the base composition. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition contains 0.01-1(wt)%, especially 0.01-0.5% collagen selected from soluble collagens or insoluble collagens, based on the whole composition. The addition of the collagen improves the irritation and disagreeable aftertaste of an oral composition containing an anionic surface active agent (e.g. a water-soluble salt of C8-18 alkylsulfate, N-alkyl sarcosinate salt, etc.) to enable the compounding of the surface active agent in an amount of 0.1-0.5%. Furthermore, the astringent taste caused by the use of a silica abrasive or thickening silica can be mitigated to enable the addition of 5-50% silica abrasive or 0.1-5% thickening silica. |
