<p>In the process according to the invention, a) a water-soluble polyurethane to which a foaming stabiliser and, according to choice, colorants have been admixed, is foamed to a weight of about 250 g/l; b) a coating of this paste-like material is applied with a scraper tool to the knitted back side of the hide pile fabric with a pressure which is sufficient to ensure the penetration of the polyurethane paste into the back side of the fabric; c) the hide fabric is then led through a three-stage drying chamber at temperatures of 90 DEG C, 90 DEG C and 110 DEG C respectively; d) a second coating of the paste obtained in step a) in the form of a 1/2 to 1 mm thick layer is applied to the hide pile fabric provided with a coating; e) the artificial hide pile fabric provided with the double coating is dried as in step c); f) the fabric provided with the double coating is calendered at about 155 DEG C and a linear pressure of about 5 to 8 kg; and g) then cured at 150 DEG C for about 2 to 4 minutes. e</p> |
