<p>Electrowinning appts. comprises (A) an electrodeposition unit comprising a diaphragm cell contg. a mixt. of conductive and non-conductive particles, in each compartment, the conductive particles having the same polarity as the electrode in the respective compartment and being plated with the metal to be recovered during electrolysis; and (B) an electrolytic recovery unit comprising (i) a chamber for dissolution of the plated metal in an aq. cyanide soln. in the presence of air and (ii) an electrowinning cell for recovery of the metal in the cyanide soln. on the cathode.</p> |
