The device possesses edge-beading tools (7) which are arranged in a plurality of stations through which a tube passes successively and, starting from a starting position (a) at a distance from the opening edge of a tube (1) located in the respective station, can be moved towards the tube (1) supported in a stationary manner and be pressed onto the opening edge thereof and of which each has a groove-like depression (9) which is adapted to the outline shape of the opening edge and is curved in a circular manner in cross-section. A flat supporting or guide surface (10) extending parallel to the associated wall of the tube (1) which is upright in the respective station is contiguous with said depression (9) on one side. In the case of the edge-beading tool (7) of the first station, a gap (12) which has an open edge and is set at the thickness of the wall of the tube (1) is delimited between the supporting or guide surface (10) and the groove-like depression (9) and a counter support (11), which gap (12) extends at its end into the groove-like depression (9) following an approximately quarter-circle curve. The tube wall is completely rolled in step-by-step by the edge-beading tools of the subsequent stations. By the fact that the edge-beading operation is subdivided into a plurality of separate steps, perfect edge-beading can be obtained even in the case of heavy cardboard grades. <IMAGE> |
