The invention relates to a medical device for irradiation comprising a device for visualising the treatment area. The visualisation device comprises a visible light source 27 positioned outside the path of the beam and the mirror 25 mounted fixedly in the path of the beam and orientated so that the visible light from the source is reflected so as to illuminate the treatment area 30. The mirror consists of a thin film of plastic metallised with an aluminium coating. The invention applies in particular to a medical apparatus for irradiation with a beam of electrons or X-rays. <IMAGE>
