PURPOSE:To obtain an effective component as a catalyst for promoting the isomerization of a quadricyclenic compd. into a norbornadienic compd. by allowing activated carbon to carry metallic phthalocyanine polymer as an effective component. CONSTITUTION:A soln. of a metallic phthalocyanine polymer in sulfuric acid contg. granular activated carbon having 0.1-10mm. particle diameter is compounded with a poor solvent of metallic phthalocyanine polymer to deposit the metallic phthalocyanine polymer on the activated carbon, and the activated carbon is separated, washed, and dried. In this way, the metallic phthalocyanine, i.e. metallic phthalocyanine polymer, not eluting into the photochemical system is constituted as the effective component. The catalyst carried by activated carbon, whose activity, life, and the operability of the isomerization reaction is remarkably increased, can be obtained. |
