The sawchain, on a motor saw, has a star-shaped deflector between two side rails. This is rotatably mounted on bearing rollers, on the periphery of a running-ring, covered by two discs on their two sides. These are flat-guiding discs (8,8') of almost foil thinness, lying against flat surfaces, on the side rails (2,2'), which extend continuously to the leading end (5). The size and positioning of the discs is such that a min annular gap is formed between their edge and an outside edge of the deflector internal hole.
