The pick which is intended in particular for chipping off ice on roads has, in addition to the chisel-shaped hewing piece (11), a further pointed hewing piece (19) on either side of it. The arrangement of a rib (25) with an edge (29) and the edges (27) favours the breaking off of the ice so that with this pick a considerably greater working capacity can be achieved than with a conventional pick. <IMAGE>
