A housing is made in a mass of gold into which a mass of gold of a different colour is introduced, the latter being linked, by heating with a blowtorch, to the first mass of gold. The multi-coloured mass thus obtained may be used to produce articles of jewellery and goldsmith's work tinted in a varied manner.
