The novel synergistic active substance combinations consisting of (1) a photosynthesis-inhibiting active substance (herbicide) and (2) a substituted azolyl derivative of the general formulae (II), (III) and (IV) (synergists) <IMAGE> in which R<1> is hydrogen or alkoxycarbonylmethyl, R<2> is hydrogen or alkyl, R<3> is hydrogen, alkyl or alkylthio and R<4> is hydrogen or halogen, have a particularly high herbicidal activity. Characteristic examples of the photosynthesis-inhibiting active substances are metribuzin, methabenzthiazuron, linuron as well as 4- amino-6-tert.-butyl-3-ethylthio-1,2,4-triazin-5-one. |
