PURPOSE:To enable an L-shaped electrode pole to be installed on a strap by a plate-group-welding method by placing the electrode pole on the upper surface of the strap, then heating and melting the periphery of a hole formed in an area of the electrode pole located over the strap so as to fuse the strap and the L- shaped electrode pole. CONSTITUTION:A comb-like jig is used to fuse lead to the lugs 1 of a plate group by means of a burner thereby forming a strap 2. Next, after an L-shaped lead electrode pole 3 is placed on the strap 2, the periphery of a hole 3a formed in the strap 2 is heated and molten with a burner 4 in order to fuse the electrode pole 3 to the strap 2 without using any jig and the like. A decreased electric resistance and increased battery characteristics are achieved by forming the electrode pole on the strap. In addition, investment for the electrode pole mold and the number of the processes can be decreased. |
