PURPOSE:To prevent azimuth loss between the recording and reproduction by arranging a magneto-resistance effect element in an air gap part formed in a magnetic circuit part for recording so as to use in common the identical gap part for recording and reproduction thereby attaining incorporation of a recording head and a reproducing head. CONSTITUTION:Magnetic circuit parts 21a, 21b having the air gap part 22 are formed on a substrate 20. The magnetic circuit parts 21a, 21b are formed by, for example, the thin film process. A coil conductor 23 arranged together with an insulator made of SiO2 or Al2O3 is provided in a hollow part 24 of the magnetic circuit parts 21a and 21b. The magneto-resistance effect element 20 for reproduction is arranged in the air gap 22. Lead conductors 29, 30 connected to the said magneto-resistance effect element 28 and reproducing terminals 31, 32 coupled to the said lead conductors are formed on the substrate 20. In applying an input signal to be recorded to recording terminals 26, 27, the recording medium is magnetized and recording is performed. |
