Apparatus for mixing two or more components in a liquid stream having an essentially cylindrical mixing vessel, a stirrer shaft arranged in the mixing vessel axis, a turnstile arranged in the bottom region of the mixing vessel, and at least one baffle, in which above the turnstile a vortex flow is formed with the centre situated in the mixing vessel axis and with a height H, and the baffle introduced through the mixing vessel wall projects into the vortex flow essentially radially. The baffle is formed as a peeler blade. It is arranged at such a distance from the bottom of the mixing vessel that the peeler blade peels a part flow from the vortex flow, which part flow amounts to at least approximately 1/5 to 1/2 of the height H of the vortex flow. The peeler blade in its cross-sections is provided, orthogonally to the peeler blade axis, with a continuous or variable curvature, the curvature axis of which runs essentially radially, so that the peeler blade in its turn generates a circulating flow with a mainly radial core. <IMAGE>
