The bed back part is collapsible and held in position by a gas spring which, by means of a collapsible lever (24) is located below the base of the bed (28). On the lever is fitted a hand grip (32) of elastically bendable material. The hand grip extends from the lever up through an aperture in the bed base, and has its grip part (32) located along the mattress (40) edge side in an outlet position. This allows a patient lying on the mattress easily to take hold of the grip part to draw in the hand grip, causing the lever to collapse. |
