PURPOSE:To improve the electromagnetic converting characteristic by preprocessing a film base with a device provided with a film heating mechanism and an electrostatic adsorbing mechanism to a vacuum tank so as to eliminate deterioration of the electromagnetic converting characteristic due to dust in forming a magnetic recording medium. CONSTITUTION:The film base 8 is moved between the electrostatic adsorbing electrodes 7 and 7' without being contacted. A heater 11 processes heating before a tension roll 10 and the film base 8 enter the electrostatic adsorbing section. The film base 8 is fed sequentially by a roll 12 in the vacuum tank 14 and the film base 8 is wound sequentially by a winding roll 13. Since the film base 8 is subject to heat processing before being fed to the electrostatic adsorbing sections 7, 7', the dust is eliminated easily and the dust is eliminated from both surfaces of the film base at the same time by passing the film base 8 between the electrodes 7 and 7', and since the base is placed under vacuum, no dust settles again. |
