A through-flow avometer of the anode-stripping type has a through-flow sample cell (10) having an operating electrode (13), an opposing electrode (15) and a reference electrode (14). A cyclically varying voltage waveform is supplied to the operating electrode (13) by a generator (21). A logic circuit (27) having parameters which are set by a controller (26) is set up in order to measure the dissolution current in the resistor (22) in a special voltage window (V2-V3) in the dissolution part of the coating and release of the ion type in the sample. The logic circuit (27) controls an integrator (28) for integrating the dissolution current during the voltage window and for resetting the integrator (28) in the case of a third voltage (V1) on the voltage waveform. <IMAGE>
