PURPOSE:To obtain a coating type recording medium having excellent adhesion between a non-magnetic base and a magnetic layer by forming the magnetic layer of the two layers; an undercoating layer consisting a mixture composed of a non-curing binder resin and a magnetic material and a top coating layer consisting of a mixutre composed of a curable binder resin and a magnetic material. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic layer coated on a non-magnetic base is divided to two layers; the one layer thereof, i.e., the undercoating layer is constituted of an uncured binder resin contg. a magnetic material and the top coating layer coated thereon is constituted of a cured binder resin contg. a magnetic material. Magnetic material powder, for example, iron oxide, metallic iron powder, chromium oxide (CrO2), barium ferrite, etc. are usable as the magnetic material. A polyurethane resin, nitrocellulose resin, etc. are used as the non-curing binder resin that can be used for forming the undercoating magnetic layer. A resin that can be cured by heating with addition of a hardener is used as the curable binder that can be used for the top coating layer. |
