Filter apparatus for exhaust gas filtration, in particular to free flue gas from arsenic, lead, fluorine or blast-furnace gas, having a filter vessel, filled with porous filter beads, in particular made of ceramic, said filter vessel having an inlet port, for the exhaust gas to be purified, at one end of the vessel and an outlet port at the other end of the vessel, a transport device to withdraw filter beads at one end of the vessel and to reintroduce them at the other end of the vessel, and a washing apparatus arranged in the course of the transport device for cleaning the filter beads.
