The device for the winding of flanged bobbins on wave-shed weaving machines, on which flanged bobbins movable in a curve transversely to the winder axis are successively fed in steps to the winder, and the winder has an extendable rotating winding finger and yarn-guide means engaging into the yarn space of the flanged bobbins, is to be varied, with the aim of increasing the reliability and increasing the fabric quality, in such a way that the underwinding of the flanged bobbins and the uncontrolled tearing of the joining yarn between two successive bobbins are prevented. To solve this problem, a yarn valley is provided on the yarn-guide means in the space between the connecting line between the yarn exit points of the successive flanged bobbins, outside the path of movement of the winding finger and the connecting line from the yarn exit point of the first flanged bobbin to the winding finger at its greatest distance from the transport plane of the flanged bobbins.
