PURPOSE:To enhance the efficiency of recovery of oil spill by a method in which oil spill is surrounded by oil fences, vermiculite grains are charged into the oil fences, and the vermiculite grains adsobing spillage oil are recovered. CONSTITUTION:A given length of hollow soft tubes connected is put to the sea by tug boats 1A and 1B to form an oil fence 3 to surround the oil spill. Vermiculite grains are then spread into the oil fence 3 from a powder spreader 5, and the oil spill is adsorbed on the vermiculite grains having very small specific gravity which float on the sea surface. The vermiculite grains sufficiently adsorbing the oil spill are recovered from the suction port 9 of an absorber 6 with a float, and the oil spill is separated from vermiculite grains in a roller type continuous separator 7 installed on the tug boats 1A and 1B. |
