PURPOSE:To achieve a higher printing quality, a greater printing speed and a longer life of a thermal head by mounting an electron cooling element on a head bracket housing a head heat generating section to radiate excessive heat of the thermal head. CONSTITUTION:A head heat generating section is made up of a thermal head 1, a head bracket 10 housing the thermal head 1, electronic cooling elements 11 mounted on both sides of the head bracket 11, a signal cable 13 and a power feed cable 12 respctively connected to the thermal head 1 and the electronic cooling element 11 and a heat radiation fin 14 mounting on the outside of the electronic cooling element 11. With such an arrangement, excess heat from the thermal head 1 after the pringing by generating heat is transmitted to a thermosensitive paper while most of the remainder to the electronic cooling element 11 and the head bracket 10. In this case, when fed with power, the electronic cooling element 11 start cooling to lower the temperature. On the other hand, the heat absorbed by the electronic cooling element 11 is dissipated into the atmosphere through a radiation fin 14. |
