SOUND FIELD ANALYZING METHOD

PURPOSE:To evaluate a sound in space and to improve the efficiency of architectural acoustic design and the design of an audio reproducing device by calculating the time series transfer function in the entire audio frequency band from time series transfer functions in respective narrow bands. CONSTITUTION:A finite space (rectangle in figure) is formed of a finite number of wall surfaces (six surfaces in figure). A sound generation source and a listening point are set at points A and B respectively, and the entire audio frequency band is divided into a finite number of narrow bands. Acoustic characteristics of all wall surfaces at the center frequency of one narrow band are calculated respectively to obtain the time series transfer function between the points A and B. Time series transfer functions of those narrow bands are connected or summed up to calculate the time series transfer function of the entire audio frequency band.
