PURPOSE:To enable an even higher speed with a simple construction and an impact operation by providing a striking wire made of magnetic material provided in a coil in such a manner to free to advance or retract and a magnet opposite to the base end thereof. CONSTITUTION:A striking wire 14 made of a soft magnetic material is provided in a coil 12 and a magnet 15 provided in a case 11 has the N pole facing the base 14b of the wire 14. The platen 20 is formed by applying a sheet 22 on the surface of a magnet 21, which has the N pole on the print head 10 thereof. In the print head 10 of such an arragement, it is so constructed that the coil base 14b acts as the S pole while the coil tip 14a as N pole depending on the direction of current flowing through the coil 12, so that the base 14b is attracted to the magnet 15 while the tip 14a drawn to the right. When the direction of the current is inverted, the wire 14 repulses against the magnet 15 and the tip 14a sticks ahead of a guide plate 13. |
