<p>PURPOSE:To prevent the malfunction of a mouse used for cursor movement on a display screen by allowing a movement extent detecting member to contact a desk top only when external force is applied to the mouse. CONSTITUTION:A spherical member 3 for detecting the extent of movement is provided between a machine body 1 and a bottom plate 2. Part of the spherical member 3 projects from the bottom plate 2 and signal conversion parts Sx and Sy which decompose the extent of displacement of the spherical member into component in two orthogonal directions are provided to the outer circumference. A separation member A which contacts the surface of a desk D to separate the position of the bottom plate 2 from the surface of the desk D and also improve the movement of the whole mouse is provided to the circumferential edge of the spherical member 3. The separation member A consists of metallic balls 24-27 and a spring 30. Consequently, the spherical member 3 contacts the desk top only when external force is applied to the body 1 against the spring force of a spring, so a cursor is prevented from moving owing to the movement of the mouse body for some reason.</p> |
