PURPOSE:To obtain signal light having a high SN ratio by providing a receiving device executing remote control through light with a penthouse for shading sunlight as background light and increasing the photodetecting area of the signal light. CONSTITUTION:In a meansuring machine (theodolite) controlled by remote control, the rotational angle of a telescope 2 rotated by the horizontal axis of a body 1 is read out by a perpendicular angle reading rotary encoder. A photodetecting window 3 is formed on the theodolite body 1 and a photodetector 4 is arranged inside the body 1. The penthouse 5 is formed on the upper side of the photodetecting window 3 and a reflecting surface 6 is formed on the lower surface. Infrared rays modulated in accordance with information transmitted from a remote control transmission device 7 are reflected by the lower reflecting surfaces 6 of the penthouse 5 or made directly incident to the photodetecting window 3. On the other hand, sunlight is shaded by the penthouse 5 and is not made directly incident to the photodetecting window 3. |
