PURPOSE:To preparing artificial leather having nubuck tone by forming a plush layer consisting of extremely thin fibers, to obtain the titled flexible leather having improved wear resistance, by drying a binder in a sheet impregnated with a binder solution in such a way that density distribution occurs in the direction of the thickness of the sheet. CONSTITUTION:A fiber sheet having at least one surface having a nonwoven fabric layer in which extremely thin fibers having 0.1-6mum average fiber diameters obtained by melt blowing method are entangled in a three-dimensional way is impregnated with a binder solution of PVA, etc., the sheet is controlled so that the drying rate at the back of the sheet is higher than that at the surface (e.g., hot air flow or temperature at the back is higher than that at the surface in case of hot air drying). Consequently, the binder solution is more migrated at the back side, a rubber-like elastomer such as polyurethane, tec. is impregnated into the gaps of the tissue of the sheet, the binder is extracted and removed, and the surface is napped. Smooth and dense piles are formed on the surface side, and flexible artificial leather having improved surface touch and nubuck tone extremely similar to naturally occurring leather is prepared. |
