<p>PURPOSE:To reduce abrasion of cable by forming a pair of spiral sections in a relay cable provided at the pad and column sides of steering wheel while providing their joint such that they will never interfere with the boss plate at the upper end of steering shaft. CONSTITUTION:A boss plate disc 2 formed with a circular boss plate 2 having sliding grooves 5 at the opposite sides of outercircumference is secured to the upper end of steering shaft 1 while a sliding connector 6 protecting both sliding grooves 5 is located at the outercircumference and a steering ring 8 is provided integrally to the boss plate 2 through a spoke 9. Sun gears 11, 14 to be fixed to the column side bracket 10 and pad 16 are fixed rotatably to the boss 4a, 4b of boss plate 2 to engage a planet gear 18 journaled on the boss plate 2 with the sun gears 11, 14. Relay cable belts 23, 19 wound in spiral are contained in the recess 13, 15 of each sun gear 11, 14 and connected through a connector 6 provided above the boss plate 2.</p> |
