PURPOSE:To prevent a broken spring from hitting a universal joint in time of such a case happening, by installing jumping-up spring, which energizes a steering wheel subject to a tilt wheel device so as to turn it round upward, in a more lower part than a tilt axis. CONSTITUTION:One end of an upper shaft 83 is coupled with the upper end part of an intermediate shaft 81 whose lower end side is to be coupled to a steering gear via a universal joint 84, and a steering wheel 87 is being locked to the other end of the upper shaft 83. Likewise, a turning bracket 102 is coupled to a fixed bracket 101 installed so as to surround the intermediate shaft 81 free of rotation around a tilt center pin 99 set up on the same axis as the joint center of the universal joint 84, while the upper shaft 83 is rotatably supported on this bracket 102. In addition, at a right end part of the fixed bracket 101, one end of a jumping-up spring 106 is engaged with a lower position of the pin 99, and the other end is engaged with an engaging pin 96 being locked to the left end of an arm part 102 of the turning bracket 102. |
