PURPOSE:To perform highly accurate automatic correction all the time, by detecting a peculiar point, where errors concentratedly occur, dividing the running locus by that position, and separately correcting the deviations automatically. CONSTITUTION:Road data for correlation, which is separately stored in a map data memory part 9 beforehand and original running locus data in an original locus data memory part 11 are searched, and the road having the highest similarity is selected. A state, under which errors are concentratedly occur in computation of the running distance, is detected by a peculiar point detecting part 25. The errors are, e.g., detected outputs from a slip detecting part 24. The position of the peculiar point is stored in a peculiar point memory 26. Thus the correction of the deviation of the running locus due to the accumulation of the errors can be performed by dividing the locus appropriately. |
