PURPOSE:To obtain the titled member of excellent characteristic of photosensitivity on the long wavelength side, excellent photo fatigue resistance and the like by a method wherein a photo reception layer showing photoconductivity formed on a supporter by means of an amorphous material containing Si atoms and Ge atoms contains oxygen atoms in the form of a distributed concentration curve gentle in the direction of layer thickness, so that the maximum distributed concentration may exist in the photo reception layer. CONSTITUTION:The photoconductive member 100 has the photo reception layer 102, which is made of the amorphous material containing Si atoms and Ge atoms, contains oxygen atoms, and has photoconductivity, on the supporter 101 for said member. The distributed state of oxygen atoms in the layer region 102 is ununiform in distributed concentration to the direction of layer thickness. Besides, the distributed concentration curve in the direction of layer thickness is continuous gently over the entire region, and its maximum distributed concentration is contrive to exist in the layer 102. The use of an image-forming member for electrophotography thus obtained enables to obtain high concentration images of excellent resolution and gradation reproducibility. |
