PURPOSE:To prevent the fluctuation in the gap between a roller under rotation and a nozzle and to obtain a supporting plate which withstands long-term use with a titled apparatus with which a molten metal is poured from the nozzle into said roll by cooling forcibly the inside of the supporting plate for a melting furnace and a heating coil. CONSTITUTION:A molten metal 2 is melted by a heating coil 3 of a high frequency oscillator and while the pouring pressure is controlled, the molten metal is poured from a pouring nozzle 6 onto a cooling roll 5, by which the molten metal is made into a light-gauge strip. The furnace body 1 and the coil 3 are supported by a supporting plate 7 and the gap between the nozzle 6 and the roll 5 is assured by the rigidity of the supporting plate. The plate 7 is provided internally with a coolant passage 8 and is so constructed as to permit force circulation of a coolant 9 from the outside circumferential part of the plate 7 toward the central part. If the coolant 9 is thereupon forcibly circulated while the metal 2 is melted, the coolant passes through an introducing pipe 10 and the circumference of the passage 8 is powerfully cooled. The purpose is thus achieved. |
