PURPOSE:To remove a metallic plate in short time without requiring much labor of the operator by providing freely attachably and detachably a hollow carbon electrode to and from the welded part of the metallic plate welded partially to a metallic member and melting and sucking said part by arc heat. CONSTITUTION:An outside plate 1 is welded to a frame 3 at a welded part 2. A hollow electrode 5 is brought to the prescribed position above the welded part 2 and electricity is conducted to the electrode 5 and the plate 1 to generate an arc. After such state is continued for specified time, the electrode 5 is approached to the part 2 to reduce the spacing. While the molten metal is sucked through the electrode 5 in maintaining the inside surface thereof under negative pressure, the rod is approached to the plate 1 and is once stopped on the surface thereof. The electrode 5 is then advanced again to suck away the freshly produced molten metal and is stopped when the electrode contacts with the frame 3. The molten metal in the part 2 is thus thoroughly removed and the plate 1 is easily removed from the frame 3. |
