<p>PURPOSE:To enhance the rate of fuel consumption while securing the operating performance with good characteristic by incorporating such an arrangement that the change speed of a continuously variable transmission is function of the car speed and the amount of stamping-in on accelerator pedal. CONSTITUTION:The change speed de/dt of a continuously variable transmission (CVT) is so arranged as to be function of the amount of stepping-in on accelerator pedal Ac, the amount of change thereof DELTAAc, or the time differential dAc/dt of said amount Ac, and the car speed or the revolving speed of CVT output shaft, Nout. Thereby the change speed de/dt is set according to the operating condition of the engine. That is, the value is set to the minimum which is necessary and sufficient for securing the operating performance, so that increment of the change speed de/dt likely to become cause of increased transmission loss can be suppressed as much as possible. This provides securement of good operating performance and enhances the rate of fuel efficiency.</p> |
