METHOD OF SETTING VERTICAL ROLL ROLLING MILL TO TURNING DEVICE FOR ROLL REARRANGING

PURPOSE:To make positioning of a rotary body at the time of stoppage of rotation correctly by setting a vertical roll rolling mill in the rotary body of a turning device for roll rearranging that rotates around a horizontal axial line with the center of gravity eccentric from the center of rotation of the rotary body. CONSTITUTION:The drumlike rotary body 4 provided with a gear 5 on outer periphery is placed on a roller 3 on a base stand 2. The vertical roll rolling mill 13 is set in the rotary body 4. A driving gear 6 that engages with the gear 5 is rotated by a motor 8 equipped with a brake 9 through a reduction gear 7. The rotary body 4 is rotated by 90 deg. and rearranging of roll etc. of the vertical roll rolling mill 13 rotated by 90 deg. with it is performed from horizontal direction. In the turning device 1 of such constitution, the vertical roll rolling mill 13 is set with its center of gravity P eccentric from the center of rotation PO. By this way, moment of rotation to the rotary body 4 is generated in the rolling mill 13 to eliminate backlash at engagement of gears 5, 6 and to perform positioning at the time of stoppage of the rotary body 4 correctly. Thus, accurate rearranging of roll etc. becomes possible.
