PURPOSE:To provide a wire which exhibits excellent performance as a wire for welding low-temp. steel by filling specific metallic powder in a sheath consisting of Ni alone. CONSTITUTION:An Ni-base composite wire for welding low-temp. steel is formed by filling metallic powder into a sheath consisting substantially of Ni alone. The metallic wire contains 15-30% (by wt%, hereinafter the same) Mo, by the total weight of the composite wire, and 10% W and contains elements of >=1 kind selected from the group consisting of Ti, Mg, Al and Zr at the amt. satisfying the following equations. The Mo source is compounded in the form of metallic Mo powder. The equations are, Ti=0.2XO(Mo)-10XO(Mo)wt%, Mg=0.1X O(Mo)-7XO(Mo)wt%, Al=0.2XO(Mo)-9XO(Mo)wt%, Zr=0.3XO(Mo)-12X O(Mo)wt%, where O(Mo) is the content of oxygen (wt%) in the metallic Mo. |
