PURPOSE:To enable the cutting work in its necessary range of speed reduction to be obtained as a tool unit, by providing a reduction gear, connected between a connection shaft and a tool mounting shaft, and a turn locking means which prevents rotation of a casing of the reduction gear. CONSTITUTION:A spindle 1 is provided in a head 2 of a machine tool, and a connection shaft 3 is removably provided in the spindle 1. A clamping pawl is engaged with an annular groove 4 of the connection shaft 3 so as to mount the connection shaft 3 to and remove it from the spindle 1. A reduction gear 5, to one side wall of its casing 6, supports one end of the connection shaft 3 by a bearing 7. To the other side wall of the casing 6, a tool mounting shaft 9 having a chuck 8 is supported by a bearing 10. A turn locking device 17, comprising a pin 18 protrusively provided in the casing 6 and a receiving fixture 19 fixed to the head 2 so as to fit the end of the pin 18, prevents the casing 6 from its rotation. |
