PURPOSE:To obtain a hot dip galvanized steel sheet having superior resistance to stripping due to corrosion by forming a continuous Fe-Zn alloy layer of a specified thickness between a base steel and each Zn layer formed by hot dip galvanizing and by specifying the composition of the upper Zn layer. CONSTITUTION:A steel sheet is dipped in a hot dip galvanizing bath consisting of, by weight, 0.05-0.2% Al, 0.001-0.007% Pb, 0.3% Sb and/or Mg, <=0.06% in total of Fe, Cd and Sn as inevitable impurities and the balance Zn to carry out hot dip galvanizing. The resulting Zn layers are heated at about 460-700 deg.C for about 5-30sec to form a continuous Fe-Zn alloy layer of 0.2-3.0mum thickness between the base steel and each of the Zn layers. |
