PURPOSE:To eliminate the malfunction of an ignition device by a method wherein the operation of a DC-DC converter is started after a predetermined period of time from beginning of conduction of primary coil for an ignition circuit in the ignition device equipped with the DC-DC converter in addition to the conventional ignition device. CONSTITUTION:A DC-DC converter 21 is equipped in the secondary side of an ignition coil in addition to the conventional ignition device and both of the outputs thereof are impressed on the secondary side terminal (b) of the ignition coil. The beginning time of conduction is detected from a signal of primary side of the ignition circuit and a switching control circuit 36, being put ON after a predetermined period of time from the time of beginning of conduction, is provided and the operation of the DC-DC converter 21 is begun from the time of operation of the switching control circuit 36. According to this method, misfire, due to the high voltage of the DC-DC converter, may be prevented. |
