PURPOSE:To moderate shocks caused at the time of gear shifting, by reducing the supply rate of intake air greatly when the engine speed is higher than a reference value and the rate of drop of the engine speed is also higher than a reference value. CONSTITUTION:In controlling a motor 5 for driving a throttle valve 6 disposed in an intake passage 7 of an engine by means of a microprocessor 3, the output signal of an engine-speed sensor 8 is applied to the processor 3, and the engine speed and the rate of drop of the engine speed are compared with respective reference values. In case that they are both higher than the reference values, judgement is made that a clutch is being coupled, and the supply rate of intake air is decreased greatly by closing the throttle valve 6 rapidly. Thus, it is enabled to moderate shocks caused at the time of gear shifting. |
