A tube mail station has a plurality of connections which are used for the bringing up (14), dispatch (11), insertion (15) and ejection (16) of tube mail carriers. Two of these connections can be selected for connection to one another using a rotatable connection element (32). The connections open out into the station (12) on the same plane and the connection element (32) is designed as a rotor (13), the axle (31) of which is perpendicular to the plane, the rotor being penetrated by a channel (33) which extends across the plane. <IMAGE>
