A damper brake (A) for flexible shaft couplings comprises a damping brake element, preferably of one or more brake linings (15, 19), which between a backing plate (3) and a contact pressure plate (5) can be acted upon by pre-adjustable pressure. The damper brake (A) rotationally connected to one half of the coupling sits on a hollow drive journal (21), in which a free journal end (1) of a second clutch half is supported. In order to ensure that even radial, angular or eccentric relative movements between the coupling halves do not lead to impairment of the damper brake (A) or the free journal end (1) respectively connected to these, the free journal end (1) is mounted in a spherical ball joint (B), which is supported on the hollow drive journal (21). <IMAGE>
